A selection of thoughts while watching a restored, colourized version of A Trip to the Moon (1902)*:

  1. Taking OFF your wizard robes to go to the moon????
  2. Why do none of these pantsless ladies get to go to the moon?
  3. Lmao it’s just…a gun?
  4. Napping, naturally
  5. Wait, what?
  6. Moon dwelling acrobat, role of a lifetime! …Alas about the puff of smoke thing.
  7. Wait they’re leaving that guy behind? Wait,
  8. Hahahaha what???? I mean sure, why not just pull it back to earth with a rope?
  9. These pantsless gals deserve more recognition!

But mostly it was me gazing at the painted sets and props like this:

*you can watch A Trip to the Moon (1902) in many places, including youtube, and it is both short and delightful as well as being essentially the first science fiction movie. Here is a link to a colourized version, the music choice on this one is truly A Choice but the colours are so lovely you simply must see them.
