Hi darling*,
As we both know, I have many options for making coffee stowed in our kitchen, to the point where a sizeable portion of our cupboard above our main counter section is saturated with coffee tools. However, I do not yet own a V60 pour over/drip brewer and listen: I need one**. “But Glynis,” I hear you say , “aren’t there 3-4 various drip coffee making mechanisms in various states of use/disuse available to you in our cupboards?” THAT’S NOT THE POINT.
Here is a short list of some of the things I like: coffee, tools, dishes, and trying new things. A new coffee making tool delivers joy on all of those levels and let’s be honest: to me that is worth ~$40***! Yes I already have an espresso machine and a moka pot and a french press and another version of a moka pot and an aeropress and a Vietnamese coffee maker but let’s not lose sight of the forest for the trees here, ya girl wants a V60.
WHY ARE YOU PREVENTING ME FROM PURCHASING A GLASS HARIO V60-03 DRIP BREWER^!?!?!?!!?!
Also we’re passing on a bunch of our baby bottle accoutrement which means: more space in the cupboard. Don’t I DESERVE a new coffee making tool? I know I told you I was thinking I should swap out some of my daily coffee for matcha for the sake of my teeth but THEN the dentist said there isn’t any significant staining on my teeth even though I didn’t go to the dentist for ~5 years, so: no need to reduce my coffee intake! I’m a tooth-hygiene savant! And anyways, currently I’m planning on making myself a bowl, whisk stand, and cup for matcha at pottery class so really all I need is the whisk and I can get the whisk and the V60 dripper from the same place and then think of the savings on shipping! I’m practically MAKING money! Oh and I should probably get more coffee beans so they can come from there too.
It won’t even take up much space in the cupboard, and maybe I’ll even consider thinking about culling my coffee tool collection.
I also need batteries for my scale.
With love as always,
glynis
P.S. I bought it.
P.P.S. now I have a tab open to a page of gooseneck kettles. (Electric ones)(the one we already have is a stovetop kettle, so it’s different)
* we both know this is actually me justifying this purchase to myself and not to you lol
** NO I can’t just use the chemex brewer! It’s not the same!†
† AND I CAN’T USE THE ONE I MADE EITHER the size is weird
*** the plastic brewer is less than $40 but I want the glass one, even though it doesn’t come in cute colours. Think of the microplastics! Also I don’t want the ceramic version because then I’d need to heat up the brewer before using it so that it wouldn’t take too much heat from the coffee and that’s just too much to think about. Although maybe I should compare and contrast the coffee flavour between plastic, glass, and ceramic?
^ again, we both know the person preventing me is: me.
